What do you think is it a bargain or a piece of junk ?

Maybe could be good for back lighting ?

Looks quite nice. i could imagine this working quite well to light up the background but i think you would need more than one and they would have to be located a fair distance away from the wall to project a large enough image to make an kind of impression.

Not so keen on what it projects onto a flat surface but the look of the beams as you look at it projecting towards you looks very cool indeed.

I have two, bought in a rush when I had to have something, anything fast! Though they both needed a bit of tweaking due to build issues, they have been two of the most useful lights I have.The controler is useful, allows blackout to cool down at the end of a gig, and yes they are great for projecting onto a wall, especialy where your audience may not like loads of flashing lights, as they have a constant beam, which changes colour gradually. I paid £65 each for mine, and at the time that was a great price. Let us know how you rate yours.I think Steve has some, his bear the name "Cubist", they have many names. :confused: :D

Ahhhh.....I thought they looked familiar.

I saw the Cubist on demo at Terralec about a year ago.

P&P is £6.00 came this morning haven't had chance to look at it yet.
They have some others as well, 3 assorted for £99.00 not bad if you are starting up, not sure if you would need to spend the extra £1 to get free delivery.

I can't see these lights being very good if your just starting off. you couldn't use them as your main/only lighting. Too Slow.

I had a look at the set of 3 and I think this is really good value for money (especially when one, if I've read it right, cost £59.99 on it's own).

I don't see why people should try and argue your prices down just cos you've found a bargain. These lights are included in a sale and are supposed to retail for £139 each according the site. You can buy an ACME Impossibled for less than this now and I can't see people arguing prices down if you use one of them. Besides, don't a lot of disco operators buy second hand lighting from places such as DJ Bids/Ebay anyway? (though not me cos I've used Ebay once and encountered a pratt of a seller so never again!)

Had a little look at it tonight seems OK, you get a free CA8 type controller you can have sound to light or static with a gentle ripple movement, nice colours would be good for slowies, quite a useful addition to my growing collection of lighting.

Yes it is strange that :D I read your post at work today but had completely forgotten it by the time I got home and opened my parcel (the fun bit) that's consistency if nothing else, just shows for the money it's good.

I could be wrong, but I think it's along the lines of: Punter " How can you justify charging a squillion pounds for doing a disco for me, when I've just seen on MDD that your lights on the gantry cost less than £40 each? " :You :confused:

I did think that might have been a reason, but thought it seemed a bit silly to think the whole pricing structures of DJs would come crashing down, because I bought a bargain lighting effect.
I do agree that we have to watch what you say as to not give the wrong impression, but if you analyzed everything in that paranoid way ,we would end up with not much to say.

If this is the case then I'd have to bring my prices down to about £20 a gig cos I once bought 2 moonflowers in a sale from Woolworths of all places for the princely sum of £12.49 each. The were originally £49.99 each but were half price and then half price again! I use them for a bit of lighting on the ceiling in front of the rig. I also bought my motorised mirror ball from there for a whopping £12! I even bought a mini smoke machine but that packed in after about 6 months. Only paid £15 for it and got some good use out of it (I had floor-mounted lights all around the stage at the time and an extra smoke machine helped the effect!).

So I might have some cheap(er) effects but no-one has complained about my prices yet!
