Hi there,

Just wondered if anybody has had experience using one of these desks and your thoughts on it? How does it compare to some of the other similar yet cheaper small dmx desks...

cheers

I personally don't like them, not that easy to program a good show. I get so many DJ's and entertainers call me asking if I can program theirs. Save up a bit more and go for LightJockey.

cheers jamie... to be honest those where my thoughts. it doesnt look that easy and only accepts 12 channel fixtures to which wipes out almost all the martin movers even a 250!
The problem is this would be a hire desk and used by people who dont know that much about what they are doing. I wanted something more physical (eg an actual desk) sitting there rather than a laptop

You could always get a 2510 controller, which can be programmed with the (freely downloadable) LJ software.

Good thing with the 2510 is that you cannot alter / delete programs without plugging the unit into a PC, so it's pretty fool proof for hire purposes.

Jamie... using the software at the moment but the offline visualizer wont work. It says a certain file is missing. Tried re-installing but still no joy. Any ideas? thanks

Does this controller only work with Martin fixtures then as it does sound like a pretty good idea if you ask me.

Also Jamie does Martin LJ work through any USB to DMX or do you need the martin one?

No mate, any DMX effect can be programmed with it, in any combination.
