i have been looking for a while for a dj controller to go with vdj
anyone ever used a numark dmc 2 or a total control, nx7 or the hercules rmx if so what are your
thoughts on them what would you say the pros and cons are for each unit
i know the dmc 2 would be the easiest to rackmount
at the moment i use the computer mouse and keyboard
i want to have more of a hands on feel and have some fun when i am djing say young partys adding effects ect

Go for anything you can rackmount - much easier.
I use the DAC-2 and Denon HC4500, which you haven't mentioned and both can be used with VDJ. The DAC-2 needs a mapper for better control, but the Denon now has native support.

Old thread I appreciate. I have just invested in a new Numark DMC2 and Numark CM200 USB 5 channel mixer. I have tested it using both CUE and Virtual DJ.
It seems excellent, but that may just be the wow factor. I will be doing an extensive review and demo on it some point next month and will post a vid on youtube when It is done for all to see and judge for themselves if that helps anyone else.

Throw my two pennies in here....
Simon uses uses the Total Control and he loves it. Jog wheel for each side. Effects are good which come as part of Virtual DJ and looping is great. This does take a bit of use of getting too.
If you do decide to go with the Numark Total Control recommend you use Numark DJIO sound card. This will improve both your sound quality plus the responsiveness of the total control.
I have used the Numark Total control personally as well and I found it was great. I am now using the Mixmeister Control as I wanted to have more control of four tracks and the functions/features make it great for when playing live.
Have Fun!
