Oh bother

Installed the Maya44 USB card, driver says it was found, and is working properly, but no sound out from Media Monkey. I got a CD with Cubase on it. Do I need this? I now read there are issues with Vista. Help please.

Update. Windows Media Player runs it beautifully. Is there a box I should tick somewhere? Has WMD hijacked my soundcard? :confused: :confused:

Do I have to use some dedicated DJ software, like Vectis suggested OTS ( I think )

Hold the front page! I may have got it! When MM has finished reading the tracks again, I have told it to speak to the Maya, as opposed to the internal card. :doh: Let's hope.

My Maya44 set-up easily but it was idiot proof (thank goodness) with XP and PCDJFX.

Sadly I'm using neither of those, but I am using an idiot!

I think MM has gone silly on the laptop. The PC running XP works faultlessly. The laptop won't stick and play a track, it just keeps scrolling. Two different HD's do exactly the same. It's the lappy at fault, I've put it into compatability, but to no avail. Any thoughts? Any ( DJ? ) programs which would read MP3's ? :confused: :confused: :confused: :bang: :bang: :bang:

Presumably you need something like PCDJ --thats what Dave Dragonfly uses with the Maya.

Thank you for that advice and vote of confidence. I don't really want a DJ programme, as MM is exactly what I want. I'd rather have a workround which lets me use what I've already got. ( And I can't afford anything else!!! This Digital game is expensive. :( :( ) Full blow by blow report of the first gig with the new setup tomorrow.

As a backup I think the onboard soundcard is sufficient. Mediamonkey is a great program, I think I would have struggled switching to digital without it.

I too am delighted with MM, and agree totally. It's just that I'm a lot peeved at shelling out a fair amount of money for a high grade soundcard, which I can't use with my program of choice.

Windows found the card, and installed without referring to the installation CD, so I guess that's what happened? :confused:
