Mirrorballs

Hi folks

Am thinking of buying a mirror ball as part of my rig. I have a few questions.

1. How to attach a motor to a goal post or T-Bar.
2. Suitable par can to light it with.
3. How can I turn the can on and off easily.

I know this has been covered before but I couldn't find the exact answers.

If the motor housing is big enough, then you can do what I do and have the bolt from the clamp through a hole in it.

Par cans are not great for mirror balls as the beam isn't tight enough. You need to use a par 36 or 56 pispot, colour changer, scanner or moving head.

Use a normal plug and a switchable 4/6 gang to turn the spot or effect on or off.

Totally agree.

Do you need to light the mirrorball from both sides to get a good effect or is lighting from one side sufficient to 'fill the floor'?

Hard to tell as I use one at each end!

I have 1 centrally and light it from both sides.

Well I've ordered the kit through terralec and they have agreed to drill through the motor (housing) and attach a clamp to it and ordered a couple of pinspots to go with it.

I found pinspots looked a bit plop so I use mojo colour changers (see terrelec website ) one either side.
