ACME Wildtech Kaleido HID150

Hi People,

Have had a pair of these for about a month now and have a small problem that i give up on, so now is the time to ask for help.

These ligts are not DMX but instead have a remote in/out socket via a 3.5mm jack plug - Question is this

How do you get them to link up so they do the same pattern and movement via this lead? I believe I have tried every combination and am now stuck.

I'm not familiar with the units but I've had a quick scan of some online retailers sites, it appears the 3.5" input is for controlling the unit via a CA-8 controller. The lack of any other outputs' mean that you wont be able to link them, unfortunately.

That would be my assessment, yet these and many other units I think, are advertised as being linkable in this manner! :confused: :confused:

Correct, They are advertised as being linkable " for a syncronised light show" I believe is the term.

I have looked for a photo of the back to post to give an idea but cant find one so will if need be take my own tomorrow.

On the rear are 3 Jack sockets 1 x large quarter inch jack input - presumably the CA8

And 2 X small whicj i think was labled remote? Again i will check this when they come out tomorrow.

I would email Prolight and ask them Richard. They are normally fairly quick to reply.

the large hole will take the ca8 controller but it doesnt do very much and there is no shutter on the kalido so ca8 can't be used to black out the light which would have been handy

the other 2 sockets are 3.5mm input/output so in theory a 3.5mm stereo lead should link the lights sorry i can't try it but i only have 1 hid kalido

Ah! My Cubists ( with many other names) don't have the extra sockets, as far as I remember. That's what was baffling me.

Thanks for your posts friends, I managed to forget to take a camera so no photo of the rear panel to show you, Will try to contact prolight, Thanks Daz, And let you know any results
