Hello fellow DJs ive been reading comments on this forum for a while now so thought i may as well join u all:)
i do most of my work in the wakefield area and 90% of my work is thru recomendations as i dont really advertise anywhere! i have spread my wings sometimes when asked and worked in sheffield and huddersfield too!
i started by accident 4 years ago when a DJ was booked in my local to do an18th and he called the pub 5 hours before the party to say he couldnt make it as he felt like death:( luckily the pub had an old fashioned DJ set up and as i was the only customer at the time i was handed the job of DJ:confused: after borrowing cds from a few mates i was ready to go, that was until the guests arrived and i became a nervous wreck! to make matters worse the birthday girl and all her girl friends sat right at the side of me demanding to be entertained! to be honest i died on my ass that night but it was a learning curb for me and i wanted to do it again but a lot better! i did a few more gigs using the pubs equiptment then decided it was time to get my own set up and branch out!
I now get a steady amount of work (ave 2 gigs a month) which suits me fine as i work full time as a driver, my brother in law acts as my roady and go getter and he normally deals with requests, he only likes elvis and grumbles all night long about the music esp meatloaf he hates em hehe!
My personel taste in music is very varied, i sometimes listen to classic fm in my van then put on a hardcore dance cd on the next minute! since doing the DJ thing tho ive really got into 70s disco music esp the gibson brothers, gets me shaking my butt everytime!
Sorry about going on and on i only came on to say hi, no doubt i shall speak to u all again, thanks for reading this im off to prepare for a 21st tonight bye 4 now keep em dancing:D
