Hi can anyone recommend a good cheap DMX interface that can be driven by software:

So far I have found this:

Comes complete with Interface and software at 96 euros.

Free Software:

I'll be honest i know very little about DMX but i can tell you the free software freestyler is very popular with alot of people on here.

Only 36 channels so looks more like a entry in to dmx control. So dont think it would be much use for the most of us in here..

As Spud says freestyler is a good choice as well as daslight which is a little more expensive.

Why not have a look at
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=Velleman%20DMX&source=15&SD=Y

That works with Freestyler DMX and that is what i use to control my fixtures.

Freestyler is great. I'm sloooowly working my way through learning it and making scenes. Baby steps...but I'll get there in the end. :o

Thanks for the information.

Is it possible to run freestyler on the same laptop as running virtualdj?

I choose VirtualDJ over PCDJfx as it uses less resources and requires a lower spec laptop.

you could buy pcdj and i am sure they do a pc dmx program that would work well with the dj program but dont quote me
