the mad thing is, everytime one packs up, I ring my retailer and they quickly send a replacment

pain in butt, but personally I`d never buy one again

Relly depends on what you want. How often did you use the cheap fogger? did you use it most of the night - i.e. prolonged periods of time. They're probably ok for minimal usage.

I recently bought the Zoom Hydrahaze and that is really good. It has a remote for time and ammount of haze. It can bellow out all night or just set it to a 'drizzle'.

Only downside is that it blows the smoke out & up rather than just out. Not a big problem as most of the time you want it in the vicinity of the light beams anyway :)

Well, last night i did a rock concert thing for my school, and i used the Magnum 550 they had there and it's fantastic!

Puts out alot of smoke, very quickly. One thing we did though was put a fan infront of the smoke machine just to help disperse the smoke abit more.

Sounds like a very good idea, I own a Magnum 550 myself and i don't get much chance to use it due to the venues i work in.
In the club i dj in they have 5 Magnun 2000 which are just immense.

Although he didn't actually recommend it, Justin did allude to his, a Zoom Hydrahaze. I've seen it in use, and it certainly will give a continuous drizzle of smoke.

Once again I stand corrected by the Master. On an issue of semantics. I'm waiting fo an in-depth explanation of the different relative opacities of Smoke and Haze, and when a dense haze becomes a light smoke!:confused: :confused: :D :D :D :D :D

The unit was not producing any haze. I spoke to the dealer today, who got in contact with Zoom, they have not got around to looking at it yet :( . But hopefully will hear from them tomorrow.

All these small budget smoke machines are basically the same with just different manafactures logos on them.

I have 75 SoundLab ones in the garage at the moment awaiting repair - most just need a new thermal fuse.

I started with 100 of them (paid 50p each) - all seconds. Some were just damaged boxes so those went straight on ebay for £19.99 and sold well.

Others were stuck pumps (a common fault). Those pumps were free'd and went on ebay as well.

At the moment i paid £50 for them and have sold 25% for over £400 - so not a bad profit margin.

i use a cam smoke machine with a remote and i have to say its awesome but whilst we are on the subject these ere haze machines are they really fire alarm friendly as a lot of people say they are but never having used one i am unsure

i would like to just keep enough smoke /haze in the air to show my lights of the best possible way with out smoking every one out.

Advertising what - i was stating a fact - this was not an advertisement - specially as i have nothing to sell at the moment.

I have a Fazer which is supposed to be fire alarm friendly but as it is a smoke machine with a fan on it, it behaves no different to a normal smoke machine.

i would probably suggest a antari 580z small but very powerful as long as you clean out regulary after each use.

should last quite a long time
