Nothing what so ever to do with Mobile DJ`s.

I`ve been after this guy for ages.

Garrulus glandarius , or the Jay.
The most colourful member of the crow family.
With a love of peanuts

Taken with Fuji S2 digital SLR , 180mm lens and a lot of patience :D

That's the prettiest crow I ever saw! :D

I've never seen one of those before, I take it they generally stay in rural areas? There can't be many in the UK?

Hi beerfunk.

There are approximately 160,000 in the uk, they are the RSPB green list , so not endangered in any way and you are right, more often heard than seen , they love old woodland so more a rural bird.

The Crow family:

Carrion Crow
Chough
Hooded Crow
Jackdaw
Jay
Magpie
Raven
Rook

160,000 and I've never seen one :o

I have an interest in wildlife, but it's something I've never pursued, I'm not sure why

I'm only 10 minutes away from Edinburgh, but I've got miles and miles of countryside around me to the south and east, as well as the coastline to the Firth of Forth to the north - yet I never seem to spend any time seeing any of it.
