Freestyler DMX Help

Hey guys, a topic that im not exactly the best on here,

Does anybody use Freestyler DMX and have created fixtures for the following:

I am looking for fixtures for
Acme ImpossiLED
Prolight IMove 200s

If anybody can help me out here that would be much appreciated.

Also does anybody know how to make scenes up so i can have a page of scenes such as buttons "1st Dance" "fast chase" ect if you know what i mean.

Can't help with the fixture files, but for the buttons, there's an icon at the top which opens a panel of roughly 6 x 6 buttons, you can then assign your scenes to these buttons.

I downloaded freestyler off the net a couple of weeks ago...

Has it got a 3D virtualizer or do i have to buy some hardware? What hardware would i need to controll my lights with it? A link would be great!

I use Freestyler to control my dynamos, i believe it has a 3D virtualizer although i have never used it.

In the terms of hardware i have one of these: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=46502&C=Maplin&U=SearchTop&T=vellman%20DMX&doy=29m6

Got it from a friend who bought it from Maplins and built it up.

I'm struggling how to make scenes etc though in it :S

I'm just starting with DMX, and am finding even making scenes on a computer program hard!

Have you tried YouTube. Search for 'freestyler dmx'?. There's loads of easy to follow video tutorials which are quite good.

I've found a video, and am following it, but the button to view the visualizer is greyed out, and therefore i cannot click it :S

What do i need to download, any ideas?

Strange! The visualiser was installed as part of freestyler, so I haven't had any issues. Maybe try re-installing freestyler, or additionally there is a topic on the freestyler forum with instructions on how to manually install it. See link below...

Downloaded it and it works :)

I think i may buy a hardware DMX controller instead of using laptop though...

Save yourself allot fo hassle and go for a simpler program such as daslight - www.daslight.com it has a built in generator for creating scenes so you can really quickly and easily make creative scenes for your lights without too much effort... Would have to boot up the gig machine to see if it has the fixture files for the lights you want to use though.

I agree.

Simpler. More Powerful. Quicker.

and More expensive... but you get what you pay for. (And No.. don't buy the cheapest package from DasLight, you'll soon regret it and need to upgrade)
