I do a few school discos in my area, but what i have noticed recently is the jannitors are getting later and later to give you access to the school.Nothing worse than rushing around trying to get your gear in and set up in 10 to 15 mins.

Well tonight it was a primary 7 leavers prom due to start at 7pm.I arrive at the school at 6.15 to set up but guess what....................no jannie. He eventually arrived at 5 minutes to 7.That meant i had to unload my van and set up as quick as i could.

Eventually i started the party at 7.30pm.

Has any one else been in this situation before?

Luckily, I've never encountered this problem. I always remind the schools' of the stipulations in my T&C's regarding the time I'll need access. So far I've never encountered any issues.

I don't have any problems either as I have got them onside, a couple even help me carry in.

I do a regular disco at a primary school a few streets away from me, and i've not had this problem. The discos they have usually start at around 7pm, and they have volunteers there at around 5:30 sorting food out etc, so i have around 1:30 hours to set up in, plenty of time! :)

Generally I try to contact the caretaker in advance and speak to them to let them know the score so I don't tend to have problems.

Me neither, I've only done a couple of school disco's and each time the janitors have been extremely nice and also there before I am. Just lucky so far I guess :D

I usually set up in the afternoon's 9 outta 10 times without a hitch. Suggest you have a word with the headmaster or person in charge of these disco's to clarify your set up times again

Never had a problem personally. I always tell the person booking me that I need minimum of an hour to set up etc. Also states it in my Ts & Cs.
