Has anyone else received an email from HM Revenue & Customs notifying you that you are entitled to a tax rebate ?

Strangely this links to a Chinese website :eek:

I know that many companies use overseas call-centres to cut costs.....
but is Her Maj really that skint ???

SPAM if ever I saw it :D

and I'll bet they can only send you a minimum of like £1m and you send £999,999 back.....

I have had two recently they are scam emails !!!!
Dont send any info to them.

The Inland revenue would not email you in the first place.
Its a scam

Well, as :

1. They do not have my business e-mail address, just my personal one.

2. They don't normally want to admit they owe you money. :bang:

3. No government agency, financial company etc will ask you to click a link to your account.

it went straight to the HMRC scam reporting address. :D

I have - offering a credible 180-ish quid rebate.

If you examine the target of the link though, it's obviusly a fake.

I wonder exactly what these emails stand to gain by this? I don't know what was on the other end of the link as I didn't click it - did anyone else?

I followed the link (but no further !! ;) ) which is how I know it's a Chinese website.
Judging by the first page, what they have to gain is your full name,address, date of birth, national insurance number etc. In fact everything required to steal your identity or worse still ensure your next tax demand is sent to the 'Silk Flower' takeaway where you'll be taking orders?? :eek:
