RCF 522A vs 525A, Big difference?

Hi all

I've compared the specs of these speakers online...and the difference seems to be 1 decibel! Is that it? for another £200 odd quid?

I want to upgrade my mackies (2 x 450 and 1 1501 sub) and was thinking about the RCF525A but I saw the 522A and thought, I might as well go for these instead....what are your thoughts

Aren't the 525s 15" and the 522s 12"?

yeah, they are different in size of speaker, but everything else is the same on the specs apart from 1 decibel louder on the 525 which seems pointless to spend the extra money for 1 decibel

If the difference in the cabs is simply between the same number of 12" and
15" drivers, ( and bear in mind that cabs with two 15" drivers in are becoming justifiably popular) then if you intend to use them solo as full range particularly for music, 15" every time. If you intend to use them with subs, or mainly for vocal reinforcement such as speeches, then 12" wins.

I'd imagine that the 15" have a better 'bass response' (if that's what it's called).

i would say go for the rcf i have the powered 310 a active and i carnt fault them there fantastic

Although I thought there was a move to smaller speakers like the Mackie 12inch for example.

Personally I like the idea of more handling with 15s

I have heard both and will say that if you are not planning on using a sub too often, then go for the 525's as the sound is definitely more rounded with more deep bass.

However the 522s give more punch in the bassline, whilst losing some of the depth. If you are going to regularly use a sub woofer then I would suggest these.

Both are really incredibly good sounding speakers.
