Newbie - Light Help

Ok so i am not a DJ, I am a vocalist but i have searched High and Low for a decent forum for entertainers and found zilch and you guys seem to be very helpful so im hoping that you will offer some advise :)

I have a set of PAR 56 lights on a t bar with controller etc, to take with me on my gigs, ive only used them once at a party but really dont know where the best place is to position them. Can anyone give me some tips?

Well done Ollie, how quickly you young ones learn the Etiquette of the Forum. ;) :)

Kerri, my suggestion would be to get them high up, and angling down. I'd try to have them side on to the audience if possible, to avoid them staring into bright lights directly. I'm sure wiser folk than I will soon be along to advise, welcome along.
