View Full Version : Posh Do's!
Had a great gig last night, was a 40th Birthday at a huge farmhouse near Chipping Norton, the people we were entertaining were reeeeaalll rich folks, Bottle's of Veuve Cliquot Champagne everywhere, Photo's of the family taking part in Dessage competitions, Radley College Alumni, Heythrop Hunt (the one Prince Charles has taken part in) and all very ya ya what what.
We we're asked if we wanted a bite to eat midway through the nighte, me and the old man were expecting a cheese sandwich or something, we got given a plate of Foie Gras and Melba toast
Booked til 2, played til 2.30 and got 50 notes cash out of the guys safe for our troubles...
So...Whats the Poshest Gig you've done?

Funnily enough, one of them was probably last night.
It was in a large house complete with tennis courts, a swimming pool & a field next door which was used for parking.
There was a massive marquee in the garden, probably about 80 feet by about 40 feet.
The tables were decorated beautifully with fantastic floral displays, there was trellis with climbing plants and several massive floral displays hanging from the roof.
The entire marquee had a solid floor, as well as uplighting and a "chess board" dance floor. The end third of the marquee where the disco & dance floor were had a black roof with a built-in starcloth.
As well as myself providing the disco, there was also entertainment from a close-up magician and a six-piece band, and there was a massive fireworks display outside shortly after 10.30pm.
Due to the late start & all the other stuff going on, I only played for about an hour and twenty minutes, but it was my kind of gig!
Needless to say, I was paid by a cheque from Coutts & Co, which Is the Queen's bank, and where you can only open an account by invitation.
Enough said!
