Bass Bins...Which ones..

I currently use Mackie SA1532(Love them mmmm) for main play out and would love to add some Bass bins to this,the question is..

1 - Do i go for a pair of Mackie 1801,s?
2 - Would one be more than enough?
3 - Is there something better that I should be considering?(And save a small fortune)


PS Have bass bins at the moment them being passive and they just don't seem to cut the mustard(Kam Z Sub MrkII 350w Rms/700w peak Powered with Kam KXR1000)

Or stick what I'v got and deal with it....:bang: :bang:


As an added thought could i change the speakers inside the units would that make more sense?

Well one obvious point is that your amp is a bit small. I drive the Class-D subs with a Kam 1500. In all honesty, I think you need more than that to match the Mackies, so would suggest something at 500w, with a bigger amp at around 750w. If you want to go active, a pair of 1501's would suffice I'm sure.

I blew one of the speakers once using the amp, was not watching the amp and pushed the speaker too much(Smoke without the use of the fogger lol)
