60s 70s night

Its a 60s 70s night yet people keep coming up asking for stuff from completely the wrong era. When you point this out they say " Oh is it a 60s 70s night huh i wasnt even born then " !!!!!!!!!!?????????????
Did they not notice the big signs ? Also was playing some 60s Motown ( Four Tops ) and this older guy comes up and says " I thought this was supposed to be a sixties night " Yes this is Tamla Motown says i Tamla Motown ?says he Nah stick some sixties on mate.:bang: Anyone else experienced this or something similar.

Yep, quite a lot. One example is the landlord at my local residency says he wants 60's & 70's all night (4 hours) yet I constantly get people asking for up-to-date music and 80's / 90's rock. I've mentioned it to him on several occasions and he still insists it's what the crowd want! Just part of the job I'm afraid, things will never change unfortunately (but you can have some fun with the musically ignorant ones :D )

The best one was the wedding recently where the bride was most insistent that I didn't play anything older than 70s - even 70s was accepted begrudgingly... even though as usual at these functions there were folks of all ages present.

Then she put a comment on the follow-up questionnaire that I didn't play any rock-n-roll for the oldies. When challenged she claimed (:bang: ) "Oh, is that not 70s then?" :o
