when i got them 1 mic was OK other a bit crackle

so i just opened the receiver and turned both Mic's in better and put a big or PVC tape round the top of the battery cup where it screw's on and there perfect for karaoke

carefully remove the grill and spray it from about 2-3 inches with a pressurised airduster, it should successfully remove all traces of the flour.

They are illegal to use in the UK.

Maplin do a pack of 3 ordinary mics for £14-99
I use them as they get bashed around a bit but I am still on the first one.
Pretty crappy sound but they do work, just....

I suppose for karaoke you need wireless mics tho to stop people pulling your mixer off the desk when they run away with the mic !

£14.99 is nowhere near Top-price, there are plenty of options in the middle price bracket, that have been recommended thousands of times on the site - try doing a search!

I don't offer Karaoke, but if I did I'd want to find the right balance between a good sounding, good quality microphone, and a fair price. At 15 quid you can be assured that the quality of sound will be way below par for anyone that's providing a professional service.

I bought really cheap mics to begin with with the cable hard wired, but found it better to spend £30-£40 per mic and have cable which could be repaired.

KAM do some very good quality medium priced wireless microphones. Think they start from like £50 for a single microphone. Bargain.

I bought two radio Mic's from Thomnan, expensive ones too. The AKG's and leaned a big lesson. You really need to know the right frequencies for in the UK, as the ones I bought wouldn't work here, couldn't get the receivers to match the Mic. They were mis matched frequencies.

It was one of their adaptor Mic's with an attachment that you can plug into any normal Mic that turns them into a radio Mic, but you need the right receiver to make them work. Managed to get one receiver over here after a lot of sourcing, but still got the other in the drawer.

So with the one I have got I can plug it into any one of my good Mic's and it converts it to a radio Mic, still retaining all the good points of the Mic.

The mics are totally illegal and of a shocking build quality as I was asked to look at some that were "hissing as soon as we switched them on". I just gave them back to the woman (dance instructor) and told her to bin them and get a proper headworn mic on (around)174Mhz which she did.

The frequencies in use fall above the Band2 FM broadcast band but also slightly into the aircraft allocation - so never mind a taxi - you'd be ordering a nice fine for their use (but not ownership).

Simply wind the lead round your desk leg a couple of times (not too tight though) to stop this happening.

Check out Images website cos they had some good bargain triple sets in a while ago for wired mics and pairs of wireless mics.

Its for this reason i dont do karaoke. I had the karaoke gear did a couple of gigs with it.... and then sold it all.

I dont ever intend to offer karaoke services ever again. When i did karaoke i had two sennheiser evolution E825s microphones E815s would be good enough.

People have asked to sing before during discos. But i wont let them. Because im not prepared to see my radio mics get broken.
