I did a school party last night and was packing up when I was approached by a lady with a carrier bag.

She asked to have a word with me and the convo went like this:

Lady - “Are you the DJ?”
Me - “Yes madam, how can I help you?”
Opening her bag she said “This radio is broken”
Me - Oh right, so what do you want me to do?”
Lady - You’re a DJ, can you fix it for me?”

This has happened a few times with people asking me to mend their electrical appliances just because I run a disco.

What is the strangest thing anyone has asked you to do "Because you are a DJ?"

Somebody asked me to play a song that they liked (well there's some on here who seem to think that's a strange thing for a DJ to do)

I used to work in IT support and got asked to fix photocopiers and faxes ALL the time.

Not really that strange I suppose, but I find it surprising how many people expect me to do karaoke.

Steve,

Hadn't you heard...DJs know what clients want to hear better than THEY do!

Welcome back, by the way.

I've had that. A lady I know phoned up to ask for suggestions on music to play at the crematorium. She wanted a nice instrumental track for the entrance. We obliged and she used our suggestion Cavatina by the Shadows.
