School Disco - Set-Up

Hey Guys & Girls!

I've got a school disco coming up this wednesday, and am unsure what gear to take.

It's for around 200 kids from 5 - 13 years old along with some adults and a handfull of teenagers. I've done this school before so i am familiar with the venue, aswell as the staff. The gig will take place in a school hall, that is fairly big (not sure on measurements, but for 200 kids you get the idea!), i can also use a smoke machine! :D

My current set-up includes:

3m Trussing (or 2 T-bars, or 1.5m)
4 Acme Dynamos
2 Acme Magic Gobos

I'm unsure as to how much i should take...

I've not had the chance to take the dynamos out to a disco yet, so idealy would like to take all 4 to have a play with them. I'd prefer to take just 1.5m of truss so i'd have a more compact rig with me, but i think 4 scanners plus 2 moonflowers would look to 'busy' on just 1.5m.

What would you take with you?

if you are trying to keep it compact ,i would drop(bad phrase) 1 of the dynamos and on the trussing go dynamo/moonflower/dynamo/ moonnflower/ dynamo. i would have all the dynamos in synch or just have the middle one in reverse

Why dont you take a mate with you to help put the gear up if you are struggling with a big rig?

I take as much as I can get in the Mondeo. While its a hatchback the rear seats fold flat and I can get quite a bit of gear in.

A school hall can be quite big so you need to have your disco have plenty of presence.

I have a number of rope lights I string along the front of the stage and that really fills out quite a bit of space. Sadly I cant use the rope lights if there is no stage as people trample on them.

I also have a tripod that I put a few LED and incandescent lights on and a big rotating light that sits on the floor.
