I have just been offered guaranteed front page listing on google for the price of £200.They phoned me up from a company called first search consultancy.

Has anyone heard of them before?

Is this a good idea\offer?

I just googled 'soundmaster' and you came up 4th. Admittedly via a directory.

Add the word 'Fife' and you're #1.

So why do you need to pay out more money?? :confused:

Yep, I'd stay clear of this one. I get a few phone calls on stuff like this and they usually end up with me saying 'goodbye' very loudly before hanging up. :p :D

I know they're only doing their job but they can get extrememly pushy. :mad:

Also beware of the sites that want you to 'upgrade' the 'free listing' that you never put on :eek:

I've never heard of them...not that that means much!

For £200 you could have listings on at least 20 different wedding or disco directories, which would drive over 1,000 people in the market for a disco to your website every year.

I know which option I'd prefer!

SEO Companies are such a rip off.

If you type in "disco playlist" on google, I come up in second place.

Keywords and a sitemap is all you need!

I've had a few of these sales calls so I thought I'd google "Lightning Disco" and I'm No. 1!

And this despite the fact that there seems to be another Lightning Disco in the South East!

Note to self - really must try and get the new site online soon!

Actually, just noticed it's Yahoo! Search where I'm no.1. On Google it's only no. 2 :(
