Denon HD-2500 Questions.

I have started to use the HD-2500. now i have a couple of questions regarding it. If anyone could help me.

Does the keyboard work automatically when i plug the unit in. Or does it need setting up. through the source button. or is that just for connecting to different sources on the player.

Second question. The playlists. I have found out how to set a playlist up. Now how can i autofade between tracks or move onto the next track in the playlist. Thats if you can?

it would be handy if i need to leave the console for a minute to go toilet or something.

pics of the new console case will be up on friday for the first time.

The keyboard yes...as soon as it's plugged in.

I'm not sure about that one but ...going from memory here... the Denon has a next track facility...so when the track comes to the end of one track it plays the next track in the que.

Gives you about 7 minutes....enough time for a comfort break.....:D

Keyboard:
Presuming you've already got the HD2500 setup for a QWERTY keyboard in the settings, all you need to do is plug & play

Playlists:
It can do what you've stated. Press the Single/Continious button to change it to "CONT", then press the crossfade "C/FADE" button to select crossfade. It'll then crossfade down each of the tracks in the playlist. Great for buffet and toilet breaks. To resume normal play just reverse the process (turn off CONT play and turn off C/FADE)

You can also have the Denon just play down the list by using CONT (continuous play...without the crossfade). However, by using the C/Fade option, the Denon fades the tracks nicely, the cortex doesn't. ;)

I'd like to point out that none of those features I've mentioned works whilst playing CDs with the HD2500. :(

the effects on the denon are cool. Sometimes what i will do... is drop the volume a touch so they can all shout the chorus of YMCA.

What is a cooler effect though. is to press the Filter button. change the parameter knob to filter the low. spin the jog disc. so you have only the bass when they are singing YMCA.

the flanger and echo is cool too. been able to adjust that with the parameter knob and also the pitch.

I had a look at that playlist thing and it seems to be cool. The cfade seems to be good as well.

Dont you get those kind of things on a normal mixer ?

I dont think I want to hear the bass on YMCA anyway:eek:
