And we all know the rest. :( :D :D I said my next expenditure would be the top grade Radio mic, and then lights. With an upmarket wedding to stand in for Twinspin on, I went to get an LED barrel, and was seduced by the LED Panel at the side of it! The good news is that I now know what I want. This was further complicated by unexpectedly winning a brand new Spin3 on Ebay, so now I will have to learn something about the dark arts of DMX!! Thirty five years in this game, and I find I still know nothing!! :bang: :bang: :D :D
Watch this space for anguished pleas for help! Tom, I know you are/were running Spin3's so I live in hope. ;)

Yes, i bought a "nearly new" dual cd player off ebay.
When it came it was extremely tatty and I barely got through one gig with it as the CD's just jumped all the time. I tried cleaning the lasers but that made no difference. Silly me didnt try it until the ebay warranty time was up.
So I just sold it back on ebay at a loss stating it had jumped on CD tracks on both drives.
So Iwent out and bought a brand new one for little more money than I spent on the duff one.
Bought a second hand rope light and half the lamps were off.
With the refund money I bought 2 brand new ones !
I have bought new stuff off ebay and in general the lights are fine.
However, the two amps I bought were simply not the wattage rating claimed by the seller. So I stripped the amps out and put my own designs inside them.
ebay can be ok but you to be very careful who you buy from.

Now he tells me! :bang: I suspect your target price might have been more than I paid for this one, I already have an old one, and am about to bid on one which I may be able to repair.
Tom, I did indeed mean you, and may yet contact you for information in joining them up. :D

So some other poor sucker gets lumbered with a pile of crap. :sj:
At least you said it was faulty. It's good to know there are still some decent people out there.

Im actually glad that im working my way towards a digital system. I have been a CD DJ for a long time. Now i feel its time to move with the times and go completely digital.
It was so much easier on sat night. Not looking through cd wallets for every track.
If you want to lend one of my sennheiser EW135 radio mics peter. give me a shout and ill lend ya one for a gig
