Hi,

I was on some music website today looking at the news and all there images are copy and paste disabled, very clever. Any one have a right click prevention code to stop people doing this on our sites? thanks.

It's very easy to get around any security measures that people use. The best bet is to use a watermark on your images. These can also be removed by anyone that's competent with photoshow, but at least a good watermark will make things troublesome for the people like
diamonddiscos.co.uk (www.diamonddiscos.co.uk) who blatantly STEAL content from peoples websites.

put that link in your sig Shaun... Yes you could have all the best coding ever and people would still nick your images.

Nothing you can put in your code can stop people stealing your images. If you value them that much, watermark them.

A good water mark is all you need, its so easy to steal someones coding and pictures from there website. Just go to file then save page as and you have all the coding and pictures from that site. I just had to do it for a guy who has lost his login and forgot who he gets his space from lol so had to download his entire site

If someone wants to nick your pics, they WILL...regardless of whether you've disabled right click or not, as there are clearly ways around that.

As for watermarks, small ones are easier to crop off or remove and I think large ones right through the middle of photos look naff.

Therefore, the photos on my site are not watermarked or right-click disabled.

Someone nicking photos from my site makes no difference to my own business or the number of bookings I get, so I see no point in losing any sleep over it!

if they wanna copy my avater, then they can, but without my permission, they would be therefore be signing my terms and conditions for a little private chat with me and my friend sledge hammer :D :D

hire in the professionals, lol, am lucky to have mates in various trades, which does help, but it also helps them when it comes to the weddings

p.s save images in .tiff heres why (the TIFF using lossless compression (or none) may be edited and re-saved without losing image quality)

tip for you

cheers damian
