Hi all,

Hope your weekend has gone well.
Tonight I did a really good wedding at a really nice place just outside Basingstoke. First time I had been there too and I had a word with the venue owner who took my cards as he doesn't have a Disco supplier and really liked what I did.

The venue was lovely and the grounds were really cool too so I expect the Bride and Groom will have some awesome photos.

Anyway, at one point in the evening I noticed the bride had a face of thunder on her. I was chatting to one of the guests who had requested a few songs and said "Is the bride ok, she doesn't look too happy".

The reply was "Don't worry mate, she always looks like that...face like a bag of spanners!"...I laughed. She was a pretty girl but don't know what was wrong with her.

There was also a guy there who I got chatting to who was also a DJ and said that he didn't do the night as they wanted him as a guest (I have the same scenario next week at a mates wedding). He actually said that he was interested to see what other DJ's did and was quite pleasant and not in my face all night. He also got out there and had a good boogie and knew all the moves to the Macarena, Saturday Night, Cha Cha Slide etc and was a big help.

If he's on here (Paul I think his name was)...thanks!

'A face like a bag of spanners'

Charming...

That was a stroke of luck, having a DJ there who didn't feel like it was some sort of competition

I remember my uncle (who is no oil painting) telling me about this woman he had met the previous day who was "...so ugly, she had a face that looked like a bulldog licking pee of a stinging nettle..." or words to that effect.

One of MY favourites was from the Two Ronnies "She had a face like a yak's backside.....
