what a great weekend

just had one of the best weekends in a while.
my son who is 6yo is stopping till tuesday he lives in ipswich. we have been having so much fun playing that game of dad and son football he passes it to me and i lob it across the park and he runs after it then he brings it back

friday night had a disco in an army camp for about 4 to 5 hundred 14 to 18yo from the west midlands it was off the hook. had about loads of people come over and say good disco.
one young lad said do i do all over the country i said not really then he said how much would i charge for a gig in the west midlands. picked a figure out of my head ( 800 pounds ) and he said if he could get the cash would i do it as the disco they have had in the past is ( rap with a c in front )

then saturday night was doing a 40th. great venue doors near stage one level no stairs. really good crowd played a good range of music venue had a few lights on walls nothing that special mojo spin 3 and an geni xtc
and i managed to click with a chick didnt get home till 3 am ( nice )

fridays top tune was linkin park num tim dawes mix and some stuff of the bassline
saturdays top tunes were the four seasons oh what a night ( gonna start playing that more often) and acdc hard as a rock
ps my son is mint gonna teach him the ropes on day but i think 6 is abit young to start

£800 seems a bit cheap to travel that far. I once got offered £1500 + expenses to go to Ireland to do a wedding after I'd done an Irish family wedding at Nissan. That was a really good night and I had loads of Irish stuff. This girl rang me a couple of weeks later with the offer. I was very tempted but my girlfriend was pregnant with our daughter at the time and I didn't really want to travel that far.

Nah, 6 isn't too young. My son is only two and he's got his own little karaoke and play CD setup. He loves it! He also loves listening to the music through my best headphones! :)

Don't kid yourself. My son is 8 and dj's for me at my kids parties whilst I am out front with the mic. Recently he got asked to Dj at a 13th birthday party and got 3 more bookings out of it - all asking for him.

Don't know if I am rubbish or what but there is enough competition round here :D :D What's more suprising is he charges more than most around here as well.

I had a good weekend too.
I ventured over the border into Scotland for an engagement party.
They were a fantastic crowd all singing on top of their voices and dancing.
Then when i came to the last 10 minutes I announced I was about to finish I got a huge aaarrrggghhhh. So I said, "Well, I have had a good time too ! but I have no choice but to finish."

Maybe get BeatRoute Bri (Axeman) along too. And there's a few other mobile DJs I know that are less computer-friendly and not on here. The networking opportunity could be a good thing for everyone!

Apart from being 66 miles (or a 132mile round trip!), I'm on holiday with my partner, three kids, her mother and her brother. I think she'll be pretty miffed if leave her there to go to a DJ meet! :(

but about that meet lads i think it would be best to meet somewhere that is good for everyone and mid week as we work on weekends
