Before I start googling, I thought it worthwhile just posting this incase anyone can reccomend or know of any.
A local Hotel I DJ at are looking for a 70's tribute act, sort of abba, disco type stuff.
The stipulations are:-
1. they must be good.....!!!
2. available on Friday 5th December
3. and the hotel are budgeting £1000 for the right act.
So if anyone is in the know, or can point me / the hotel in the right direction, that would be great.:beer1:

Mike, the best tribute acts - especially 70s ones play at Butlins - We regularly have a lads weekend away for the 70s themed weekends and the tribute acts there are great and play a wide range of songs - you can get their band names of the Butlins website, and there should be someway of accessing them or more likely their agent through there.
I used to tour in an Elvis act (bass player) and now an Indie tribute act - and £1000 should secure you a top band (give or take a greedy agent!) for 2 45minute sets.
good luck

I recently worked with an Abba tribute band called Abbadabbadoo. They were fandabbydozy. Thoroughly recommend them. Much better than others I have seen.

I'm not so sure £1k will cover a 4 / 6 piece band at that time of year.
The last 3 bands the company hired came in at £1.5k.
If you do find one....I also need one in December....could you let me know.

Do a search for a band called Love Train, They are from down south, we had them for a charity night up here, they charged around 3K but they were well worth every penny.

If it's the same Love Train I'm thinking of, I saw them a few years ago and certainly agree with Steve. I think I saw them at an entertainment festival in South Shields.
I don't know the entertainment scene around your area, Mike, but, for that sort of budget, I'd be ringing round the clubland agents. Perhaps ringing round some of the bigger venues in your area might throw up a few recommendations.

Haha yeh sorry, your right.....but my point is, if he wanted any help then I could help him:confused: Those are what he performs in the most, but he also works as a kind of "agent" so can pretty much get his hands on anytihng...
It's there if he wants it...:)
