Worked with some Live musicians last night at the Wild West Wedding who were the brides family ( father, brother, sister etc) and they did a live set half way through.

Thankfully it didnt send half the guests home early and ruin the rest of the evening.

Which is exactly what DID HAPPEN a year or so ago when a family friend proceeded to do a 90 minute slot in the middle and killed the reception stone dead with a large number of guests going home or going to different parts of the hotel---never to return. :eek:

Anyone else suffered from this problem???

Had it once with a Beatles Tribute band up in Harrogate, Up-market wedding and the beatles band came on all dressed up and did all the classics 1st when the reception was only just getting going, So i came on with a decent dancefloor and then they came back on playing stuff that people wouldn't dance too and doing lots of acoustic stuff, By the time i was due to come back on there was about 20 guests left out of the 180. I say no more

Yes the slight difference is I warm up the dancers and make it easy for the Disco ---not send them home early :D :D :D

Yes last new years eve with a steel band they were awful , they said to me do you want us to play the new year in, I said no I've been told I've got to ;)
Mind you they danced well from 11.30 until 2pm luckily everyone else came back too.
Quite annoying really cause the band got paid much more than me , funnily enough I've been asked back this year, but just me from 8 til 2am.
