Hi all.
Did a Wedding last night for a couple that are into pulp:eek:, and alike.
Boy this was hard work.
First of all, the best man kept comming up ( nice bloke )and saying " can you play some older stuff", then after 5 mins, the groom comes and asks " can you play some more modern stuff".
So i play the tracks that they had emailed me, (knowing that most of the other guests would hate it) and the bride and groom, and one or two others danced.:)
I had about 20 - 25 requests, and played them.
Then later, the best man came up and said he wanted to sing a song, so after i made sure that this was ok with the groom, i got the track ready for the singalong.:bang:
Now this is the best bit.
The best man said " when you play the song, can you cut out the lyrics and just have the music playing"
I said sorry, i am not a Magician.
I think he should have booked a Karaoke.
Anyway, got asked for some cards from the bar staff, even though they also thought that it was a bit of a strange crowd.
So job done.

I wouldn't have let him sing in the first place unless it was pre-arranged or a karaoke.

The thing is, the night was not realy swinging anyway.
If this had been like a usual night, where there are lots of people dancing and joining in the fun, then i think that i would have said no way.

I had this happen to me once at a wedding.I just told the girls sorry but i am here to play music to get people to dance, not for you to sing.

If you make the announcement that the next few songs have been selected by the bride& groom \ best man, then everyone else will know that its not your selected playlist.

Oh don't worry, every time i played a song that i thought would bomb ( that the bride and groom had chosen) i did that.
