Gentlemen:

I added a new section to my website last friday just to see if I would get any interest and so far I have had 4 firm bookings from it!!!!!

http://www.bumble-b-roadshow.co.uk/index.php/176

2 x wedding receptions - 1 x Anniversary Party and 1 x Corporate Family Evening.

All have said what a fantastic idea, I wish I had thought of it before.

Quite a good idea, I like it

Doing this you are networking with other Mobile Discos too and creating some good working relationships between them.

Exactly my thinking Steve mate,

As I have mentioned I know how protective we chaps are with our gear which is why I have said that the evening DJ must be in agreement with the idea after all they are there for the main evening event.

But so far so good with the response, I have had one of the wedding dj’s on the phone thanking me for doing the kids bit at a forth coming wedding!!!

Not wishing to rain on your parade, but if one of my wedding bookings phoned me and asked if it was ok, I'd just tell them I could do it myself.

Hiya Mate,

I fully understand what you are saying, but there are few mobile discos who would not be able to entertain the children who might be at an event like a wedding reception.

That’s who I am talking about

That is a great idea i hope that it works out for you.
Parents will do anything to keep the kids entetained so that they can socialise
There seems to be a shortage of that kind of entertainment

Of course you would get your usual rate as it is two different services, you are a Dj and Mayhem is a Childrens Entertainer.

Mayhem, I like the idea and hope you do well out of it but I have to agree with one of the comments above in that I could do it myself...in fact I do. I may not got OTT but I always ask if there are going to be children present at the wedding or function that I am doing in my pre function meetings. I always ask IF it is ok to keep them busy and entertained at the beginning and 100% of them have said "Yes, of course PLEASE do".

I was thinking more of increasing my charge for the extra work!

Hmmm, I'm in the other camp, I can't do the 'entertaining kids' bit so if someone asked me about this I would have to pass onto someone in my area who could. Although it does give you the option of 'Yes, I can provide that service' but sub-contract out the kids entertainment work to someone like Mayhem, as long as both parties agreed to it obviously!

You might be able to make a couple of quid on it? Just a thought...
