I just took delivery of one of these (http://cpc.farnell.com/DP30326/audio-video-tv/product.us0?sku=elation-fsh-1000) this morning.
Not for a mirror ball, for a corporate Hollywood themed night.
Should be fun! :D

Ah reminds me of when i used to work in a Theatre. I was one of the follow spot team and it was great fun. I did get told off a bit though for making small spots appear in strange places during performances. There is quite a skill to opening it up exactly on the subject on command.
Ive often wonderd if the technology has moved on since i did it in 1993. For example there must be a way of attaching some small guidence transmitter to the subject so the follow spot can be automated, maybe its been done i dont know, or maybe I should shut up and file a patent...

Oh, I'm sure he has.
