Mp4 To AVI

i wonder if anyone can help, i've got some old gig footage on my phone and after transferring it onto my pc i wanted to burn it using nero, so that i can make a dvd out of it, but once transfered they've come as mp4 and i've been looking for a simple mp4 to avi convertor, i wonder if anyone else has had the same probs doing this.

and can suggest a decent bit of software to do the above.

You dont need to edit the filesize and resolution if you want the same settings as the file before you convert.
