It's great to look back and see what you guys were using back then, I recognise quite abit of the lighting from old clubs i have helped tear the gear out of but its great to see a website up where somebody has taken the time to post pictures and catalogues.

wounder if anyone still makes light like this i think the clay paky astro dosco is a kool effect and 2 on a rig would look great

A lot of these effects are still produced in places like india and malasia. One of the managers of one of my venues was talking about them the other day.
I remember those old harvesters, used to be a great effect especially the square version. They would all move in like spotlighting the dancefloor then move of and around. The older version of the moving head I guess. Still a great effect though and of course everyone smoked like chimneys in those days so no need for smoke machines to see the beams.

Never tried it, but it's free for uplift if anyone fancies a bit of retro lighting. It's absolutey HUGE!

Certainly in relation to what we were earning per gig back then, most of it was mega-bucks!! Probably why a lot of us ended up with "Home-made" Light boxes & Screens!!:) :)

From memory, it's pretty big, but then again it fitted through the attic entrance and that's not too big. I recall it being pretty heavy though. I can take a trip up the loft on Sunday and get the dimensions for you if you like?

We've had protoypes of this made up, but using LEDs instead. Nothing has come of it so far though. Did look good! They're adding a speed dial, and a button to change direction to go with the sound to light that it came into us with to start with.
