Is that the show or the film Theo?

We saw the stage show in London--magic--I couldnt be bothered to watch anything else after the real thing played live---even if the film makers have a bigger artistic licence with the locations.

Having said that the wife went to see the film---on her own:D

It was the film. It will do the world of good for karaoke. After hearing the stars sing no one will be discouraged from having a go. It was a good fun film.

That sounds like fun Ross! Rather you than me. I've got a wedding at Whitstable Castle tonight. I have worked there before and it is nice coz it has an 11 o'clock curfew. I accepted it from an agent I dont often work for and I have mentioned before that there always seems to be a glitch with his gigs. I have had the cheque in advance and spoke to the client who seemed very nice and wants a good mix of music. He also has The Fortunes playing a set. Where's the glitch? They want the disco in an upstairs room instead of downstairs where I normally play because they've got a casino going in there!:bang:

No off time for me

Took a booking for a kids party late in the week as their Dj had let them down and also had a wedding booking at Hassop Hall

Wouldn't usually do 2 in a day but the kids party wasn't that far from the wedding so took it as it was a 9 yr old and she sounded dead sad on the phone

Worked out well as her Dad booked a Mods & Rockers night for November :D

Good wedding aswell at Hassop......and all this on my birthday (yesterday) must be mad ;)

No time off for me either... Done the last of my school prom bookings friday night. Been a good year for these and everyones always up for a good time.

Done a Summer Christmas party last night.... Everyone was up for this from the start. Your usual party tunes with the odd christmas song thrown in here and there with a christmas song as the last song of the night. Only down side to this party was a visit from the enviromental health as a neighbour had complained it was to loud. The guy was really good. He had been outside with a noise meter and then came in and saw the party organisers and myself and assured us we'd done nothing wrong and went on his way.

Got a christening today 2-6 some nice and easy.

Now got 2 weekends free as we're away on holiday from next friday.... what will i do with myself???

The wedding was chaos! We arrived at 5.30 for a 7 start. I discovered that there is like a drawbridge onto the floor where we were; so no stairs after all.:) Only problem was that all the guests were seated eating dinner in that room and they had only just started. We eventually got in at 7! Set up by 7.30. Changed and ready to go by 7.45. Then the band came in to set up. The groom had hired in a Peavey p.a. for them but they couldnt get it to work properly and there were technical problems with their personal equipment. :o They were related to the groom and one of them said he wished he had either refused to do the gig or insisted on bringing his own equipment. They were ready eventually by about 8.30 but nearly everyone was downstairs in the bar, in the gardens or playing the casino.:( I played some background stuff and got a message that the first dance would be at 9. :) Then I was told there would be a delay to that as the caterers had just served the buffet. :bang: Oh I forgot to mention that the room I was in had to be cleared of all the tables and chairs and the caterers said it wasnt their job; so the guests had to do it. Eventually the b & g came for their first dance - "Chasing Cars" followed by "You Do Something To Me". I followed with "Dont Feel Like Dancing" and was asked to stop the music to cut the cake!:bang: Guess what? There wasnt a knife! They also ran out of champagne! I was asked to play another whilst they found a knife so "I Wanna Dance With Somebody". Cut the cake. "Valerie". Now its time for the band.:bang: One of them had been in the original Fortunes and the other two were his sons who had also performed as such. They were actually quite good but the P.a. sounded dreadful as they were driving it into distortion. The audience were responsive and danced to all the tracks I played and to the band. Whilst they were on at 10.15 the B & G announced their departure (this was as planned); so there was no chance for a big send off. The band finished at 10.30. I played "Mamma Mia" and "I'm In The Mood For Dancing" got a request for "Honey Honey" followed with "I'm Your Man". A girl came and asked me whether I had tiger feet? I replied it was just the way I stood but played it next anyway. Request for "Time Of My Life" then "Wonderful Tonight" and say godnight and play out with "We'll Meet Again". Loaded and home before midnight.:) The audience were great and really danced and responded well. It just seemed so disorganized.
