Now what?

Right guys,
Firstly thanks for all the help and advice so far. My system has gone through a large change, doing away with all my basic "sound to light" lights, and huge goalpost rig. I'm now downsized to an ultimax 1.2m deckstand with 2.5m single overhead bar with a new LED starcloth.
Problem is now, i'm left with 2 Acme rovers, a Kam led javelin and an Acme impossibled. Do i do away with my rovers and go all LED??? if so what lights should i get to compliment the javelin and impossibled?? and how should i arrange them on my overhead??

How about keep the Acme rovers and put them on the ends of the stand and maybe get another ImpossibLED and put the Javelin in the middle and then an ImpossibLED at either side, All i can say really is just experiment and find out which works and looks the best for you.

With the none use of smoke at a lot of venues, many of the traditional effects are useless as they Reilly on the smoke for best effect.
I think the Rovers still have a place as they do so much and although not at their best without smoke still give an impressive show without.
Obviously many of the LED lights look fantastic without smoke as with the lights you have, so for that reason like Steve says place the Rovers at each end for variation and your main lights like the impossibled in the center.
The Rovers will still give a very good show as they bounce of the floor and ceiling etc.

its obviously your own preference but i find mixing older lights with led gives you a good range and abit more depth, just try it out :)

Personally, I like a mix of LED and filament lights. Variety is the spice of life. My lighting rig is undergoing a radical change, and I should soon have a basic LED rig, with a choice of filament to complement it.

I too have the ultimax, and for normal gigs have from the centre out an impossibled, either side of that either my old xtc'x or smartscans, then either end i have my boogies, I also knocked up a couple of brackets for mirrorballs on the end with 2 pinspots on them, if required!!
