Acme Dynamo Difference

Does anybody know what the difference between the 100 and 250w dynamo scanners are apart from light output???

Would any of the internal components be different in anyway???

Logic suggests an upgraded power supply and fan/cooling system.

absolutely not.
if the unit was designed for a 100w lamp, that must not be exceeded

you wouldn't put an M6 bolt in a 13a plugtop, same principle applies.

Yeah, it needs a different transformer and the like for the different bulbs!

I found out when my dynamo broke (:() and when i took it to get fixed, they needed to know which bulbs it used so they could order the right transformer.

It's now fixed, but cost me £55 :o

You might aswell of bought a new Dynamo for what it costs to get it fixed.

Well, considering i didn't even have £55 to pay for that, £100 was a no go.

They also have an extended vent next to the bulb. Slightly different outer dimensions.
