Calling all Berkshire DJs.....

Hi folks.

I've just taken a wedding booking for next August, but it's a bit out of my area, so I was wondering if any of you know the venue & can give me any more info on what it's like, especially with regards to what the access is like.

It's the Easthampstead Park Conference Centre, off Pea**** Lane, Wokingham, Berkshire, RG40 3DF.

I've worked there a few times this month funnily enough and have worked there quite a lot over the years.

The venue is not easily found, so it's worth taking sat nav and a map.

The access is either through the front door up 3 or 4 steps or a ramp or you can go round the side and take your gear into an anti-room behind the main room. If you are going in the front, then either take a trolley or ask to borrow theirs - it's a luggage trolley and is massive. Either way, it's not miles, but still worth taking a trolley or roadie.

The building itself is a Victorian building and had something to do with royalty back in the day, so the ceilings are very high, though it doesn't really suffer from echo. There is no aircon being an old building, but they do have fans dotted around. My advice is to take your own. The bar is not very close to where you set the disco up, so take your own water.

As I worked there a couple of times in two weeks, I found the staff to be friendly and accommodating and they even gave us food and drink the last couple of times we were there.

The other problem you may suffer with if it's in the summer, is people staying outside, as the building has very beautiful grounds.

As you didn't mention it, I'm assuming there is no sound limiter (something I forgot to ask in the original post)?

No, but when I worked there earlier this year, I took a sub and they came out and started saying it was too loud, so I sent my roadie out with a sound meter to gauge how 'loud' it actually was and after they'd asked what it was, they didn't say another word.

It is kind of in the middle of no-where. The building is at the end of a drive which is about half a mile long.
