laptop stutter pcdj fx

Hi guys just a quickie noticed that when i scroll down quickly on my laptop compaq presario 2541 eu 2.7 ghz (i think) with 1gb ram i get an audible stutter ..... noticed this a while back but usually at gigs just search a particular song

i have updated the video drivers as suggested and put the laptop on optimal performance setting taken off all the cack really except pcdj fx and the o/s any suggestions as to anything else i can try ??


no other problems runs great and quick just the stutter on quck scrolling if you do it slowly its fine?

Use different software. :D

What's the maximum ram you can install on the machine Dave?

You might want to upgrade that a bit.

Or try lowering your audio acceleration a bit as laid out here http://support.frictionalgames.com/entry/19/

very funny mr. Yoda not worth buying new software though as I only have 5 gigs left to retirement (could use red but would be better to stop the stutter) :D :D can muddle through it's just annoying that its a problem that won't go???

Ta muchly I will give that a go I think 1gb ram is the most I can put in it to answer the question

When you drop it back, just try it one notch at a time and see if that improves it.

Hya mate obviously your not refreshing quick enough.
Although you have 1gig ram that doesn't necessary mean your getting the most out of the system.
If the FSB is 266mhz or lower than on the ram and even the actual processor and motherboard you just get a bottle neck as they can only do what they can do.
Trouble is your system may not support any higher spec without actually upgrading the motherboard first.

HP Pavilion ze5300, ze5200, ze4300, ze4200, and ze4100, HP nx9010, nx9005 and nx9000, Compaq Evo Notebook N1050v and N1010v, and Presario 2500, 2100, and 1100 notebooks use only DDR266 SDRAM modules. Using the wrong type of module prevents the notebook from booting.

Unfortunately you may not be able to get anymore out of it even with the measures you've already taken.
Ideally I would have recommended getting DDR333 FSB 400mhz 1gig ram but doesn't look like your motherboard would run any better by doing that as it doesn't support it.

Out of interest do you defrag the hard drive regular?
Defragging can make a huge difference, also like mentioned it may also help if you split the files so don't have quite as much within a single folder.
You could also try setting the folder view to "details" as apposed to say icons, list etc.
Personally I wouldn't have expected you to get any lag when scrolling but the way things like the folders are setup etc. can make a huge difference when it comes to the refresh rate if things like deffragging aren't done regular after updating the HD and the actual way folders are optimized for best results.

it seems mr dragonfly is a complete :Censored: wit !!!!!!! i have 2 very similar laptops one a 2541ea the other a 2541eu one is 2.8 ghz the other is 2.6 ghz so i use the former as my main play out with pcdj fx the other with red ..... now i bought the second after an unfortunate incident involving its predecessor and a carlsbro bass bin.

it arrived with 192 ram .... so thought that needs upgrading may as well do the main one as well while im at it .........

Hya mate, to be honest I still wouldn't have expected any lag with 512MB of ram considering the new settings and basic software installed.
Obviously doubling the ram would improve things, I have never used pcdj fx but sounds like it saps quite a lot of resources when running?
