Has anyone got the numark dds 80 digital media player. If so what are your thoughts on this one?.I was in a dj store yesterday and had a demo of the digital dj on offer.Have to say i liked this one over the dennonhd2500.

There seems to be a problem with the dennon dnx 500 mixer i was told that the plastic buttons on the bottom left hand corner come loose and need repaired frequently.

I think it will be the numark dds 80 for me soon.(once i put my prices up)

Theres another thread already done on this when the unit was launched a month or so back.

By using the SEARCH facility, comments are here (http://www.mobilediscodirectory.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=11360&highlight=numark)

Although I've not owned it, I've used it a few times, gigged with it once and demo it daily. My thoughts stay the same as when I posted the initial comments. Give me a HD 2500 anyday!

I had mine delivered a couple of days ago and although I havent used it out on the road yet I am still very happy with what it is like so far. I am still in the long and boring process of ripping and tagging but It is well worth it.

Its a doddle to use and has some great features, the profile view on tracks can be very handy and the cd feature is an abvious plus.

I will post pics soon as I have for the minute lost my camera cable lol.

From the reviews etc. its an advanced D2, I have the D2 and love it.
When they first announced they were bringing the DDS 80 out the one thing that annoyed me was it came with the DVD player, my argument at the time was that, the DVD player should be an optional extra so the actual price of the DDS 80 would be cheaper to initially buy and for anybody that already has the CD side covered it wouldn't be a case of having to buy something you didn't need.

I would say in its current state its basically still a D2 with the addition of the color screen and will obviously be faster at all tasks over the D2 due to the higher memory and usb 2 ports.

From what I have read all the functions are the same as the D2 and using the same firmware at the moment as the D2, although the DDS 80 will eventually be more advanced than the D2 which you would expect.

Out of interest has anybody actually looked inside the D2?
Am sure it must be possible to upgrade its memory at least?

I don't have any experience with the Numark, but if you would like a demo of the Denon or Cortex just let me know. I'd be happy to bring it along to you so you can have a "play".
