A very interesting idea. I would imagine that it would be costly to produce, and also what equipment you would need to control all the different layers of the track.

Reminds me of the 4 and 16 (?) track recorders i used to use at school!

Fantastic, that would answer all my question related to a post I made the other week about how to remove the vocals to make my own intro / outro tracks :)

I would imagine that most if not all audio editing software's with the addition of new codecs to allow this new file format to be played would do the job.
Although the software companies may have to incorporate some additional tools in to later versions of their current software's so its possible.

If you buy the standard trakc you basically have the acepella, insturmental and backing track all in one :)

A lot of CD singles provide this anyway!

This method is a little more complicated than that. It would enable you to break down the bass lines, synths, strings, vocals etc....

I actually had a meeting recently about this and another type of MP3 thats creating a buzz in certain countries.

Its really for producers, more than people at home to mess with. This development is very good if used correctly, and all that article thinks its good for is :Censored: ringtones!! LoL

DJ'ing would be taken to another level with this, meaning club DJ's could become live producers in the booth, taking certain bass lines, lyrics, synths from random tracks, remix them, loop them, add effects etc..... Would be exciting to see what the big names could do with it!

Guess we'll see some exciting bits of kit at BPM 2010! ;)
