Great ones I've seen

Hawkwind at York Uni, Lemmy and Stacia, quite interesting. ;)
Curved Air, same venue. Sonja Kristina, WOW!
Camel, Leeds Uni, Snow Goose, truly epic.

Best of all PFM. Superb.
Except the Eagles at the Dome were beyond belief. :D :D :D

Not so good, EC at Bridlington. Lacklustre.

Missed Garth Brooks, due to not letting a mate down. :( :(

Would love to see John Fogerty. Would have loved to have seen Heart in their prime. Ah those Wilson sisters. :heart1: :heart1:

I went to see Gary Numan at Southampton Gaumont as an 11 year old in 1979. It was amazing and my first ever concert. I saw him again in 1980 at Hammersmith Apollo and then at his 'farewell' gigs in 1981 at Wembley Arena which I have to say, apart from my wedding was the best night of my life. I've seen him around 150 times now.

Depeche Mode I have seen a number of times too and they were awesome at Wembley Arena a few years ago. Also saw NIN (Nine Inch Nails) at Brixton Academy and was on the guest list and that was a great night (Gary Numan, Beck and Marilyn Manson in the V.I.P. bar after the show).

Seen some good concerts over the years actually and some pretty bad ones too.
Madness were brilliant in London many moons ago and Jesus Jones, Blur and Neds Atomic Dustbin on the same bill was pretty good in London too. I won't mention the Reading Festivals over the years as there are too many bands to mention. A couple of the best gigs that are right up there with the Numan ones are The Mission at the Astoria and New Order at Hammersmith Apollo.

Worst gig? Well without a doubt it has to be Public Enemy, Whodini, LL Cool J and Run DMC on the same bill at Hammersmith Apollo. I actually liked the artists (especially Public Enemy) but it was dire. All mimed and attitude from the audience. Loads of trouble too.

One band I would have loved to have seen live were The Specials. A mate of mine had a spare ticket at school but my mum thought it would be trouble. She let me go to Numan though!

Best gig ever by a MILE, just for the sheer slickness of absolutely everything and the wow factor of the sets and depth of meaning, has to be Peter Gabriel's Growing Up tour.

Second-best for the pure atmosphere was the Freddie Mercury tribute at the old Wembley. Highlight of that show was George Michael (I'm not a fan, but wow what a performance).

Third was a charity do at the Royal Albert Hall a few years ago where Kaiser Chiefs and Franz Ferdinand, both new and unknown bands, were on the bill. They were keen to impress, full of passion and with the RAH setting both performances were amazing.

Notable mention was Neil Diamond earlier this year at the Rosebowl in Southampton. Only went to accompany the Mrs and the MiL and have to say it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening with some very touching moments.

Biggest let-down? Madge. She can't hold a note and after a few minutes of dancing is so out of breath you can't hear the lyrics!! Also a Billy Joel & Elton John joint concert a couple of years back when Billy was ill so didn't show... but Elton still went on and did about 4 hours straight.

Four stand out for me.

I was dragged along to see Michael Jackson at Wembley during the Bad tour in 1987, and I have to say he was awesome, definitely the best show I've ever seen.

Lisa Stansfield at the BIC. Tremendous voice. Really good night.

Bill Withers at Cambridge Corn Exchange in 1988. He talked about how the songs came aboutin between the songs and was exceptionally good. Felt like a very intimate event. Was supported by a sax player named Mike Stephens who was really good as well.

James Taylor at The BIC. One of my all time heroes and unforgettable. Brilliant performer who I'd love to see again.

the only concerts i have been to were, dont laugh,.....Blue at Glasgow(back in the day) and t in the park if that counts.... I have tickets for the ocean colour scene in december though..... I dont know if tiesto at privelege in Ibiza counts either but he was amazing.....

would love to see Neil diamond live and Kenny rogers....only seen the tribute acts for each.....

Very jealous of the ones here that have seen Alice Cooper. I've always wanted to see Alice live but never got the chance. And Skid Row. Got the albums but I was otherwise engaged when they came anywhere near here!

Good gigs include : Bon Jovi, Guns 'N' Roses. Van Halen, Meatloaf (4 times now!) and Bryan Adams.

My favourites, though, were close-up gigs for Sleeper, Terrorvision, and, best of all, Carter USM. Had some great nights with these guys during my mis-spent youth! Especially the back-stage chill-outs!

erm... probably around 1984-5 I think.

To be honest, I just remember it being a really good gig (I knew a lot of their songs as my Mum & Dad used to be folk singers and listened to them a lot)

The best concert for me was Roger Waters at the N.E.C last May. I bought his DVD "In the Flesh" a few years ago and was blown away by it so I had to try and see him before he calls it a day.
Sadly Rick Wright passed away a few days ago but if anyone gets a chance to listen to a song from his solo album Broken China called Breakthrough you might air it as a slow song in your set.

In my earlier days I saw Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, Gary Moore and the Mission in Cardiff.
Marillion at the NEC in the late 80's.
