It looks horrible and unless you are using smoke or haze, it's a waste of time. You can barely see the dots it is projecting unlike a real mirror ball.

What do you use to light it (par cans)?

Don't like it myself, Looks so 70's cheesy disco! The sort of effect I would expect to see in my local Flares nightclub.
I don't like it either.
I'm sure if you were on a budget then it would be ok but you can't really beat a mirror ball.

There is a video on Youtube which makes it look a lot better than it really is, having seen one in the flesh, so to speak.

Em..... I actually have one! looks good with smoke, I like some white light... think it looks classy! doesn't look great in the light, but in the dark, with smoke it is really good with bright sharp beams. If I am honest, the real thing is better... but to be honest, would the average punter really notice?

Hold on guys...I have one of these but it's a different make and it has a lot more LED's on it too. I agree that it only looks half decent with haze or smoke but it does look good when you have those. It has a nice effect.

It's the same as the ADJ LED Starball i believe.
I think it's okay.

I bought a twin barrel machine, which is going out now as a Zoom Blade. I can't remember the make at the moment. It has had the colour filters removed, so gives only white beams. A possible option.

Which I have used (borrowed it for a wedding first dance), it's very good with bright white lights. Unfortunately I didn't get chance to use with smoke. :)

Sorry but it looks like one of those £9.99 lights you get in pound stretcher at Christmas. you know the ones people have in there bedroom.
Hope I'm wrong. Seems extremely over priced as they must be so cheap to make.

Yep New York Disco :)
I have still been trying to convince the installers who work for Oceana to change the bog standard par56 to LED pars and they won't go through so many lamps.

It is indeed the same unit as the American DJ Starball.
I got one of those - yes it looks like a Woolworths cheapy, but performs very well in action --- does what it says on the tin, i.e. gives a mirror ball effect.
Here's mine on the floor in front of the rig... take a look at how bright the 'dots' are on the marquee ceiling (the whole marquee was filled with 'em when there wasn't anyone dancing in front of it).
