Sandy, do you know for a fact this is a DJ? I have contact details for quite a few and it doesn't figure on my list. Hope it's not really bad; you could always ask your local plod for advice... :o

yes....very abusive and slanderous......also extremely nasty and hurtful accusations made about me. (and of a sexual nature)
I have an appointment tomorrow to take legal advice because this is serious and seems to be escalating. It is definitely a DJ that frequents the forums....which ones I'm not sure at the moment.

i can't understand why anyone would be going out of their way to hurt me in this manner...it seems really bizarre. I can now appreciate why female DJs are reluctant to join forums.

I think your first call should be to the police , this is utterly deplorable behaviour.
And , if found out to be a member of ANY of the DJ related forums, should be banned for life by all admins of all sites.

I have witnessed many a heated discussion on this and other forums , but this has overstepped the mark by a country mile.

Good move, although personally I'd be involving the police as a matter of course.

sandy hope you are wrong and this don't put other woman off joining forums, it's the first case i have heard of and i know they are trying to locate the number on the other forum i am a member of. i don't believe in naming and shaming personally because sometimes an innocent party can get the blame.i do agree that when the person is caught they should be thrown off all forums.
anyway sorry i can't help you(well glad i dont know the number really, would hate it tobe someone i know personally) hope it all gets sorted soon

I've just had a chat to Sandy and this is a very serious issue. I have also had a PM from another forum owner telling me that he is also getting abusive texts from the same number.

The number in question doesn't show up on our database unfortunately, but please keep your ears and eyes open as this type of thing shouldn't be happening.

This is very very strange because I had one on Friday night but off a different number shouting and swearing at me, There was 4 phonecalls in total but they seemed to have stopped now but if they do start again then I am going to take this to the police.

Have you googled the mobile number??? I just tryed mine and it comes up as I use a mobile for buisness calls untill I get a landline number sorted out.

He did but nobody has said if Sandy or anyone else has googled it. With abusive or nuisance phone calls always go straight to the authorities. On land lines BT or your service provider can and will help. I am sure that your mobile provider will do likewise. Also try ringing them back to find out who it is.

Good advice surely Theo. What baffles me is why in these days of caller ID the abusive caller has not witheld the number? :confused: Unless of course the inference is that they're not the sharpest tool in the box. :confused: ;)

well as the number has now been posted on most major DJ forums in the UK i'm sure it's only a matter of time before the person gets caught... Sadly the chances are slim as i don't think anyone would be dumb enough to use their own number to do something like that (although who knows!!!) but at the least i think we'd probably be able to get the police to trace a rough location or to get the number barred by the network operators..

Prize pratt who ever it is really though. Do something decent with your time rather than cause un-necessary upset to others.

Ah. Certain options come to mind, but I couldn't possibly suggest them in public. ;) Does it still cost money to retrieve voicemail? I don't know, as I had mine removed on purpose.
