Yee-ha!

Sponsored link to DJ Ollie has some interesting sales pitches under free advice when shopping for a DJ---

Ask them to talk you through how they start the night and get the guests dancing, also what they would do if no one seems to be getting up at the beginning of the night.

It's not just about the music, the DJ should make the party complete, so ask how they entertain your guests to ensure they are right for your occasion.

Finally, make sure they guarantee a great night to be sure they can justify their price - remember you get what you pay for.

There are some discos that advertise countrywide.
Thats pretty keen.

I would probably travel up to 40 miles on a good day.

Nigel, I think you'll find most that advertise countrywide are multi-ops, with DJs local to the areas covered, rather than an individual DJ whom drives hundreds of miles, which would not be cost effective.

I'm just wondering how many people would just Google "Mobile disco" though, bearing in mind it will bring up everything in the whole country.

I'm sure most people would add a county or even a town after "mobile disco" (I know I would).

This would bring up a very different set of results.

Indeed it does and I would .

I don't think many people use "mobile" either, more likely to just search for "disco <town>" or even "wedding disco <town>". Infact the most popular term in this kind of format for me is "dj's in <town" and I'm pretty high for most combinations of disco/wedding/mobile etc.

I dont know of any that do it local to me.

The first disco I worked on had 4 sets but they were all based in the same town.

I could imagine disco being bigger business in the more populated areas.

I find it surprising how many people search for generic terms, such as these:

mobile DJ quote
mobile dj's with prices
under 18 disco
disco hire
mobile disco
mobile disco price

All these somehow found my site recently, but presumably some peole don't fully understand the way search engines work, which is why there isn't a refining term such as the town.

Unsurprising though that many of these originate in the Phillipines, India and China. Obviously spam-mongers building mailing lists.

That sounds logical.
Although I've just looked at the stats again and in the instances I gave, all were UK apart from "mobile dj's with prices" which apparently originated from 'Skyband Malawi'.

I suppose there could be UK spammers at work also.
