I had one around 15-20 years ago when they first appeared. It was just a white moonflower with no gobos and it cost me the best part of £300!

Built to last, they were (unlike some of the effects being made nowadays)

I still see a few of these Ministars each year on PATs.

i had 2 of them and 2 rainbow( simular but flat beam ) and a magic moon amoung other stuff

old school but very good.
prob a little heavy compared to modern lights.
once did a school disco when i was about 12 and a dad of one of the kids agreed to do the lighting- he turned up with 15 ministars, 4 golden scans and an industrial fogger.
they've held a special place in my heart ever since.

I had 2 of these, no sound to light just plain white moonflower but very bright. 24volt, 250w halogen capsule lamp. I used mine on stages firing up and out behind the show, really solid effect.

A about a year ago or so I assited in a re-fit of an old nightclub that was going to be opened up under a new name, management & theme, These effects were removed and proved VERY dirty, dusty and battered, I plugged them in to see if they still work as I was curious as they was Martin and guess what they were still going, Says something don't it?

ah yes... the good ole Ministar, got 2. Good basic effect. They do do sound to light, or should do.
Look after them they will go forever.

Yes your quite right they do sound 2 light, I put a bypass on mine to use them as mood lighting, just remembered! :)

Still got a Rainbow. Has to be about 20 years old now, still works perfectly (if a little noisy)
