Guys i am looking at ways in which to raise some money for this extreamly worthy cause. ( admins sorry if this is in the wrong section)
my idea is simple in theory on MDD we have a huge amount of members and we are all most working on Sat nights i am thinking if we all could donate 5% of our fees for one night only then between us all we would raise a lot of money.
i am just putting the feelers out at this time in the hope that many of you will support this outstanding charity.
all money raised will go towards a rehabiliatation center to help our brave armd forces recover from injuries whilst on active service.
i will ensure that this is done through the website of HFH and all donations made are made through the official site also.
if you are willing and would like to help please respond to this thread so as i can work out the numbers and get things sorted.
please understand that you will make NO payments to me nor will i gain in any way from this i am just trying to help in any way i can.
the official site is here http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/index.html
they would of course know that the very kind people of MDD donated to this i have created a justgiving website which i can use over the next 6 months to raise as much as i can and if i get the support from here it would be a huge chance to raise money and the MDD logo could feature on the justgiving website
kind regards

Whilst I wish you luck with the initiative, as a business I have a limited amount of scope for providing charity funding/services and as a person I am pretty much maxed out on the amount of time I give over to charitable causes, so for these reasons I'm out :)
We/I provide a certain amount of services to charity for free each year and these are now earmarked until well into 2009.
Good on you for raising the profile of your worthy cause and I hope you get some take-up.

Sorry Daz, we weren't discounting helping. We do tend to be a bit frivolous on here though. Apologies.
Put a link up to the Just giving website and I will bung a couple of quid on there. :)

At my local, the landlady's brother is big on the 'Help for Heroes' charity as he is in the forces himself. We have done a few things down at the pub in aid of the charity but I get paid as I normally do to entertain. We have done some charity football matches and bikini car washes too (not me though!!!!). They also had a percentage from sales of 'Spitfire' (Real Ale - lovely stuff) given to the charity too.
