I don't go fishing for compliments, but as a multi-op we do get quite a few emails and letters thanking us.

I don't do this very often, but did get an email from a really nice B&G from couple of weeks ago that I thought I'd share with you.

"We are fresh back from honeymoon and wanted to thank you for putting on a superb show for us on the 13th at Sonning Golf Club. I realise that we have a bit of a confused musical identity, but we do think that you handled everything perfectly. To keep our mixed ages happy all night and to keep a good number on the dancefloor was wonderful, and you very quickly alleviated any worries that we may have had about having an empty dancefloor or any awkward spells. A number of our guests have commented on the whole set-up as being the best wedding entertainment that they have seen. Your light show transformed the room, and I think everyone appreciated the appropriate volume that you kept the music at - loud enough to enjoy and to fill the room, quiet enough at the edges to be able to speak.

We had a perfect day, and you helped to make the evening a great success for us.

It's always good to have feedback and that is excellent feedback mate so well done.

You say that you don't fish for compliments but I sometimes find it frustrating when you can do a perfectly good function and on the night the customers can't thank you enough but it's quite rare (I'd say 3 out of 10 of my customers) that they get back to you after the event. I must admit, whether it's me doing the function or someone else doing one for me, I always send an email after the event to say thanks for the booking and try to initiate some feedback from them. I know that on the night, it's the occasion coupled with alcohol etc that has them grinning from ear to ear if it's going well etc etc... I have had my fair share of good feedback and I always ask if it is ok to add the comments to the website as I personally think that it's stuff like that, that can really help with bookings as good feedback and recommendations are the best form of advertising.
