The only problem with that is that the gig they saw me at, a couple of weeks ago, was in Evesham, Worcs - so I'm off back over there tomorrow, another 240 mile round trip!

yeah, we travell fair distance, from here to london and back, scotland if needs be, got a gig up in the islands of mull soonish, thats some milage clocking up their, i can see you down put money away for your business, and most probley have a full time job and be a part time monkey, trying to compete with the big boys

I have my first UK gig tonight and I must admit I'm massively stressed... mostly new gear that I've only partially tested, not quite the full desk set-up that I'd hoped to have (so I'll have to use a trestle table which I hate especially as there'll be loads of leads on display), and I've managed to convince myself that something's going to go horribly wrong.

So if anyone's near Devizes and wants to lend some moral support I'm at The Bear Hotel.

Moral support aplenty here, young fella. A spare deckstand also, but I'd guess it's too far to travel.Somehow I expect it will go well for you, I suspect you may be better prepared than may appear. Looking forward to a report tomorrow.

So, the best I can say is, it went OK, I had up to 20 or 30 dancing at times and about a dozen on the floor for a good two hours which, I guess, for a 90-ish group of self-professed non-dancers isn't so bad.

Al glad to hear you got through--as your starting fresh I thought you would go for something like a Denon USB reader and a hard drive for playout?

Biggest problem with the USB reader is I can't stand the look and feel of them.

Well done Al... it'll get easier from here on in. You'll make **** sure you nail that software fault before the next gig!

Not sure about the reasoning re: USB readers; as you know I use the Numark d2 and if you don't use the advanced features it's just like using a CD player :confused:
