I was just thinking, what we should have an MDD website awards, where each year each member submits their website link to a panel of judges on MDD and we award the winner with an award badge they could put on their website, any ideas, cheers damian
p.s since its my idea, i think i should be one of them judges, cheers damian

I dont think that many people would want to enter if you were going to be a judge. The way that you have treated people!

Damian i hate to think this but im sure all you do is come on here and argue..
I begin to wonder if you dj at all?
How about for a chance give us an insight to the gigs you do, the gear you use and where or what happens..
It seems to me all you do is moan about one thing or the other if you are unable to comment in a honest way perhaps this is not the forum for you....
I came across this website once and its right up your street...

This thread has given me the best laugh I've had all weekend & when you consider the fact that I've been socialising for most of it & have had quite a few good laughs, then you will realise how funny I find the whole thing.
Cider anyone?

Well i for one think its a good idea. It would also be away of advertising the MMD.
Think we need more than one judge and need admin on side.

I agree Tony. I've seen a few 'Gold Award' for this and 'Platinum Award' for the other... And I think: "Compared to What"?
My web site is a key part of my sales force and I, for one, ain't looking for an oscar!!! And besides, our websites are all so so different, how could one web site owner say his own is crap and that one is better, in all honesty? If it was better than his then surely that's saying "oh dear, mine is actuallay crap in comparison".
Now then girls........play nicely.
Like Tony said... Gosh, the bickering... Tut Tut Tut!
This thread has given me the best laugh I've had all weekend...
Yep! So amusing!
I think Damian was looking around t'interweb at all the (in my opinion) pointless awards and thought it was a good idea and, as I have no idea about his past on here, that obviously back-fired. Oops! Let's move on.

I just think it's hilarious that one of the most disliked members we've ever had on this site kicks off at the weekend & then thinks that anyone will do anything other than ridicule the idea in post#1

Did you not read any of the forum at the weekend?
The man goes out of his way to wind people up & then has the audacity to question why he's getting a hostile reception! You'd think being banned for a month would've got the message through, but no he'd been back for less than a week before kicking off.

No Steve. I'll have a little look now. I seem to recall Tony (Penmare) mentioning his name when we were talking a few months ago but I never really got round to reading the posts that got him banned...
I'll tootle off now and see what all the fuss is about...

Ah. That'll explain why I'm not finding many. Wild goose chase over...
I did find a few comments and can see how easy he kind of gets fired up and gets people's backs up. Obviously a personality issue but I don't know the guy so I'll leave it at that.

I think a DJ awards would have been a better idea. That way all the forum members could be involved rather than just those with a website.

I agree.
Also, a brilliant looking website bares no resemblence to the quality of service you provide...and surely THAT'S what matters?
After all, I seem to remember the guy from Watchdog had quite a nice looking website!

Having re-thought the website awards, I might be up for it.
After all, if there was an award for the website with the least BS, I think I'd be in with a VERY good chance of winning!

I have no problem with that, Darren.
I didn't want to cause any problems, which is why I made no mention of the individual's or business's name whatsoever.

Even though the first thing on your home page is "The Party Shop Disco is Dorset and Somerset's premier mobile disco service"?
It always amazes me just how many different discos are a particular county's premier/best mobile disco...they can't ALL be!
:p

02-10-2008, 06:22 AM
Well I'm not Dorset's premier mobile disco service. I don't have it on my site, and I know Tony is coz I read it on his website:)
Come to think of it, I'm not premier in anything! But I'm really, really good at some things...

Well unless someone comes along and shows me in excess of 100 customer feedback forms stating that they are "much better" than other local mobile disco companies I'll keep using 'Premier' in my advertising :p Because that's how many I've got over the last 2 and a bit years since I came here ;) Plus a handful that say "better" to boot.

Don't worry, Impact, I'm not Surrey's premier mobile disco service either.....in fact I don't even come close.
How much difference does that make to me or my customers?
None whatsoever!
:D
I know Tony is coz I read it on his website:)

Shall we start this thread again LOL
I think it would be an good idea to have a little inhouse website competition between all the members of this site, that have a website
Have a top prize of say free banner adds upon this site for one year. Please set up a list of all those that have websites and let the general public or even just us all have a vote?
There are very many members with very good sites and some with very drab ones. It could prove a very interesting conclusion if we all have only one vote each. But it should be voted on the same catagories as most websites win via Clarity, Longevity, Informativeness, Usefullness
